Drinking and using drugs can prevent students from achieving.
That’s why Idaho’s Office of Drug Policy (ODP) reached out to Idaho schools to participate in a student survey about alcohol and drug usage. Each school then received results about their own student body and a kit to help them to more easily implement prevention activities.
The kit included a guidebook with step-by-step instructions for designing simple prevention activities; a pocket-sized parent’s guide to distribute at back-to-school nights; and student-facing posters and mirror clings promoting positive social norming—i.e., letting students know that not everyone is drinking, so why should they?
